What to expect on our courses.

You will be shown the skills needed to live in the outdoors, but come prepared for hands on practice, as you only learn by doing.

As knives will be used on our courses, you will be taught how to use them safely and appropriately.

No alcohol will be allowed on the courses.

As some of the activities can be quite strenuous, a reasonable level of fitness is required.  

Our aim is to have customers leave with a good solid knowledge, of wilderness living skills. Giving people the confidence to go and explore the natural environment.

The Pilgrim, is a 2 day introduction course, teaching people the fundamentals for wilderness living. The main themes covered will be fire, shelter, food and water. You will learn to make fire with various methods, make your own shelter and sleep in it, also we will find and identify plants which will be beneficial to us, whether it be for food or medicinal properties, plus find water and purify it. Safety in the field will be covered, plus food handling and hygiene, and also cooking methods. Other topics will also be included on this course.

The Pilgrim

The Ancestral,  is a 2 day course in which you will learn wilderness crafts which will be of benefit to you whilst out in the wilds, using natural materials that mother nature provides. Implements from containers, too hunting and fishing tools will be covered. Stone, antler, wood, feather and bone, will be your companions with which you’ll manufacture various items that will enhance your outdoor experiences.

As there will be limited spaces for this course we ask that students will have completed the Pilgrim, course first.

The Ancestral

The Lads & Dads is a 1 day course in which parents are encouraged to come along with their children, to share and bond whilst enjoying the outdoors. With modern technology from television to computer games filling up kid’s senses, the great outdoors has long been forgotten about. From climbing trees to making dens, these pastimes have faded into the mists of time. But we here will give you the opportunity for them to rediscover and actively engage with the natural environment.

 

Cost per parent and child. £60

Safety is a priority, and a first aider will be present on all courses.

Day Courses

We can also offer tailored made day courses to individuals and groups, on specific topics relating to outdoor living skills.

The Four Crows are also available for events, stag nights and team building exercises.
